This is really very interesting discussion. The speaker assesses the last 25 years of fighting computer viruses and what should be done in the future. Hypponen explains the importance of internet globally and the technology advancement attached to it. He adds however, we  encounter a serious problem called online war because of organized online gangsters. The first computer virus was discovered 25 years ago in Pakistan (TED, 2011).

According to the speaker, the first virus called Brain A. written by Basit and his brother Amjad .From 1986 on, there are many different kinds of viruses written by teenagers and hobbyists. The speaker says these kinds of viruses are not written nowadays. However, the problem gets worsen because the online crime gangsters become organized and introduce a number of viruses by hiring programmers and testers to make money globally. Hypponen notes, it is really impossible to stop them because of the very nature of the internet. They move from one country to the other to do the same crime to generate significant amount of money.

Key loggers are computer programs that sits silently to save anything typed in the computer like password, name and transfers to a predetermined remote host using the internet. The online crime gangsters use the key logger to get all the information like credit card and convert to their interest. In this criminal activity the online business affected because customers lose confidence to shop online and organizations may shutdown the business undoubtedly (TED, 2011).  

Finally the speaker concludes that we need serious worldwide law enforcement to stop these gangsters. In addition, he also points out that we need to learn do things without internet and not relaying very much as what we do now (TED,2011).
