1. Culture and human development are influences by many different things pertaining to the individual being measured. Like you stated, one of the main influences for this is language, and how one can communicate with one another in life and in society. With this being one of the major factors of evidence for the influence of human development, other reasons include the cognitive state and social emotional reactions as an individual matures into adulthood. This can also bring about other examples of religion, family traditions such as marriage and courtship while others can be as simple as food choices. Though these examples can be measured in many different ways, they all play a vital role into the development stage for either a positive or negative view overall. I really liked your note regarding the impact culture has especially when it comes to cultural beliefs. While these are too another great example for this, It also brings to mind how these beliefs are taught to other generations as well! Even such as the millennial generation compared to those in the baby boomer years and generation X where we see these types of social interactions change down the line.

2. you made some excellent points on how culture truly affects us from young age. I grew up in the church probably fro the moment i was born and my parents made us go every weekend. Even though i hated having to go every weekend, it really shaped my thinking and how i viewed being a good person by showing God's love. As i got older i decided that i did want to follow in the same foot steps as my parents and that it makes me a better person. I also see how much their influence in my life is affecting my views now in the world and i am grateful that they taught me to be the person i am. What is one thing you are so grateful your parent instilled in you?

3. Culture has a major influence in human development in, so many ways. As the textbook states, “All of the behavior and attitudes that are learned, shared, and transmitted among members of society group” (McGraw-Hill, 2014). When we were all children we learn about our culture from our parents, that helped shape us into the adults we are today. For instance, I live near the U.S. - Mexico border and I am surrounded by two cultures. I have had two cultures that influence my development since I was little. As a child I learned two different languages because my family showed me it. I am very lucky and grateful to learn, since not lot of people have that opportunity. Learning two languages has been passed on in my family, for many generations now. It does not only help me communicate with my family and others around me, but it will look better on my resume. Now as a parent I will teach my sons how to speak English and Spanish, which is a great way to embrace their cultures.

4. In any research there are many steps that are taken before any actions are taken. Disclosure of the elements of the study are going to be one of the first steps to welcoming participants and assistants. Is it possible for there to be elements that are not predictable? Do personal feelings have a place in the scientific process? Please explain.

5. Being a psychologist doing research on a frst grader and a third grader, and how the family impact the child I would use quantative change. In any research you have to have the first stage middle stage and a last stage, this will show how the research is progressing or processing. Documenting the abilities of a first grader as far as height, weight, and vocabulary comprehension. As we compsre the progress of a third grader to a first grader we find out th progress of the child learning ability and physical abilities. We find that in ccomparing if the child is developing properly for his or her age group. Also in the research, we can determine the environmental at home by the way they behave in their speech, whether they are nourished right in the physical and their learning ability. If a child in the third grade is at a firstgrade level of learning, we then know that this child abilities are not normal as a third grade. Psychologist are able to determine a chids abilities through right research, that can help children to develop properly

6. Qualitive research focuses on how and why study subjects behave a certain way while quantitative research focuses on numerical data (Martorell et al., 2014). If I were a psychologist studying the impact of family relationships on success in school in first through third graders, I would use qualitative analysis. I would choose this analysis because numerical data would not produce relevant results within this particular study. This is because the impact of family relationships would be observed rather than a student’s performance in general. If the student’s overall performance was the main focus, then I would use quantitative research and would utilize their grades as the numerical data. Additionally, the type of study I would use would be sequential, which is a combination of cross-sectional and longitudinal (Martorell et al., 2014). Although I believe this would be the best type of study to use, it would take a lot of time and effort to complete the study this way.
