Importance of Visual Maps to Stakeholders

Companies have tools such as printers, word processors, pens, and networking devices that make it easy to record its performances and review them appropriately. Devices are not completely efficient as they may not be interpreted easily. Hence, visual maps not only remind the stakeholders about performance and objectives, they also help them interpret those things easily and make quick decisions to improve the company’s performance (Giangregorio, 2017). For instance, from the visual map above, stakeholders will remember that Amazon’s great goal is growth and this aspect will only be achieved if the elements surrounding this aspect are sought.

Visual maps also enable the stakeholders to make significant commitment since they will take part in conceptualizing, producing thoughts, and interfacing ideas together while investigating and creating the visual maps. Bryson, Ackerman, and Eden (2014) notes that stakeholders use visual maps in the evaluation of company’s performance since they do not require skills or expertise to interpret and any stakeholder can understand the performance and goals of a company.

Visual maps help stakeholders to characterize the work and desires of the company. Some stakeholders can have a much more significant impact on a company than others and there is a need to rate that aspect when making critical decisions about the company (Bryson et al., 2014). The ideal way is to follow a consistent cycle. Using a visual map according to their impact and intrigue can indicate the level of association the company’s partners have and, in that case, the kind of engagement they need to have with them. Stakeholders will understand the challenges of their colleagues by examining their visual map.

Furthermore, visual maps enable the stakeholders to prioritize their actions and decisions towards achieving the company’s goals. When they understand their partners, the stakeholders can manage their needs. By organizing partnerships, one can plan according to the level of involvement and ensure that things that need priority are attended to for the betterment of the company (Bryson et al., 2014). Also, stakeholder’s circumstances can change with the assigned task and this need to be reviewed regularly to avoid overrunning important errands that may compromise the company’s performance. Hence, visual maps enable the stakeholders to follow up the events among themselves and make sound decisions to ensure that all elements such as those indicated in the visual map above like lowering prices and improving customer experience are always undertaken.

What is to be transformed and how to measure it

From the Amazon’s purpose driven KPI, stock prices tend to trend, and these trends have a psychological impact on individuals and businesses. Despite positive feeling that customers have, the company should work towards making the prices friendlier for the customers. Therefore, this visual map indicates the customer cost-structure, lower prices, and customer satisfaction since these are the key aspects that need transformation (Giangregorio, 2017). The successful transformation of this issue can be measured by examining the changes in the KPI over a short time.

How to Effect the Transformation

Amazon can affect the transformation indicated above by figuring out what made consumers invest so positively and expand on them alongside revising its cost-structure to provide a more positive feeling for customers. Discovering small areas that are working can help them exploit those areas as a mean in which this transformation can be effected since the stakeholders will assess those areas with the possible improvement approaches.
