Hello my name is Maryam AlJassar and I’m interning part time at Al-Telal Holding Co. I am based in the Marketing department, my internship is for one month and it is on Weekdays starting from 9 AM till 1 PM. I am learning, observing, and gladly assisting my colleagues in the marketing department in general such as answering calls, emailing, photocopying, organizing documents and taking memos. Q1: What was the most important thing you learned so far? A: The most important thing I’ve learned in the marketing department is actually more than one thing. Understanding the basic marketing principles, creative problem solving skills, being more familiar with major social media platforms and its an amazing self starter for the ability to work independently in the future. Q2: What was the most surprising thing you learned so far? A: The most surprising thing I have learned so far is that I’m learning very quickly with all the basics of how the marketing department works such as being comfortable with multi tasking in a deadline-driven environment and excellent written and verbal communication skills and many more. I am very grateful to be able to have access to learn and observe great modern marketing and the opportunity to gain a lot of knowledge from my friendly and very welcoming colleagues. Q3: Did you adjust well to the tasks? A: I am happily and easily adjusting very well with all the tasks I’m given and working closely with the team and assisting them. Q4: What worked well? A: Allowing me to learn, observe and assist my colleagues with a one on one communication is amazing and its upgrading my knowledge in the marketing field and career wise. Its helping me a lot for my future direction for my career and job. Q5: What challenges you faced? A: I did not face any challenges in my internship as I am challenging my self to do my best in this great internship to happily assist, learn and gain a lot of knowledge and skills in this field. Q6: How do you for see overcoming the challenges In the future? A: Challenging myself to learn, work and do my best in my marketing internship is the best positive challenge to achieve. Knowledge growth in many factors in this field is a blessing and its the next step to my future career. To overcome my challenge is to always believe in myself as the harder I work for something the greater I will feel achieving it.
