Let’s start with the basic parts of a plant. Flower : Attracts pollinators, like birds, bees, and butterflies. They also make seeds to be able to grow more plants. Leaf : They make food by allowing water and air to come and go through opening and catch energy from the sun, turning the air and water into food to grow. Fruit : The fruit comes from the flower after the pedals fall off and protect the plant’s seeds. Stem : The stem holds the plant up and passes food and water to the different parts of the plant. Root : The roots also help to hold the plant up. They also collect water and nutrients from the ground and store extra food for later. Now let’s listen to a story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNs8Zl_Km14 style.visibility ppt_w ppt_h style.rotation style.visibility ppt_x ppt_y ppt_y ppt_y ppt_y style.visibility ppt_w ppt_h style.visibility style.visibility style.visibility ppt_x ppt_y style.visibility ppt_x ppt_y

“It is a fantastic way to teach children about the wonders of farm life and to educate them about where their foods and resources actually come from. For many children this is the only chance they will ever have to experience a real farm setting, and for some, it is a real life changing event!” Russel Roy, creator of the Red Barn tour program Now, let's take a trip to a farm! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSBNIOvhkvo
