Conceptual Framework Describe the theoretical basis for the study
This study was done to examine the effectiveness of school, community and healthcare based intervention to reduce and prevent suicidal ideation, , attempt and self-harm in people age 12-25 years.
This study was done to evaluate the effectiveness of education intervention in preventing suicidal behaviors. |
A systematic review of literature was conducted, second a meta-analysis of result of independent studies, to determine the effectiveness of Cognitive behavioral therapy for treatment of Suicide, and self-harm behaviors. |
A systematic review was conducted to examine the link between life experience of bad life events and suicidal behavior in adolescence and early adulthood. |
Design/Method Describe the design and how the study was carried out
Trials were drawn from large database, of psychosocial intervention for SI, plans, and attempt. 13, 747 articles where reviewed, articles that did not talk about suicide prevention where excluded. |
Systematic review and meta-analysis multiple data base was searched related to suicide prevention. Data from individual studies were combined in meta-analysis. |
CBT outcome study was used, the Cochrane Central register of controlled trials (CENTRALL , MEDLINE, PsychINFO, and Dissertation abstract electronic database were searched between a certain year. |
They used a system called the preferred reporting items for systematic review and Meta-analysis (PRISMA). They assessed 28 studies for quality using several criteria for example. |
Sample/Setting The number and characteristics of patients, attrition rate, etc. |
Sample size was from 30 to 4133 participants, with a total of 10, 654 across all studies. The mean age is from 12.9 to 22 years. 31 percent where on school based program, , 22% on a community based program, and 475 on an intervention delivered in a hospital setting.

Measurement Identify primary statistics used to answer clinical questions |
Data Analysis Statistical or qualitative findings |
Effect size where calculated using Cohen’s d or phi. Cohen d is calculated by subtracting the mean intervention (Mi) score from the mean control score (Mc) and dividing by the pool standard deviation. |
