OC Journal Assignment Do you think organized crime is a significant threat to society, or is it a necessary social function that supplies unfulfilled demands in society? Discuss and analyze both sides of the argument and provide examples of how specific government policies may have contributed to the growth of organized criminal networks. Your response must be reflective of your own views, but you should make reference to the course material when making your arguments. Your journal should be 4-5 pages double-spaced, and should be uploaded into the text box within the journal assignment on Blackboard. The use of internet research is not encouraged in writing this topic since this journal must be written from your own perspective. The objective is to have students engage with the concepts that we have been learning in a way that will demonstrate what each individual has learned about the topic being discussed. A simple paraphrasing of material from the course readings or from the internet will therefore not be considered acceptable. The journal will be due during Week 11 on April 6, 2022, and will account for 15% of the final grade for students who choose this option (instead of the presentation).
