Schedule, Unit 7
Friday, April 19 (10 points) Start Unit 7 (revision of old writing assignment) Blackboard deadline: 12:30 p.m. After you look at all of your previous topic sheets and previous writing assignments, indicate what you want to do for your last writing assignment by saying which writing assignment you will be working on (any one of our six previous topics) and which revision method you have chosen from below (method one or method two). Here’s an example of what you need to tell me:
I will revise WA #2 using method one. [You could then tell me a few details about what you think you will do in WA #7.]
For your Writing Assignment #7, you will be have the two revision methods found below: Method one (100 points): You can decide to do an entirely new version on any of our old topics, indicating a situation of your own choice. Doing this choice will provide you with more points (80 points) than choice two (40 points).
Method two (30 points): You can take an old essay and revise it by at least 30% by adding or eliminating information after you completely change your situation. Changing your writing style to fit a new audience is probably the best way to approach this choice. If you choose this option, you will need to turn in your old final copy of the original version of your chosen topic.
Homework for Monday–Think about and perhaps outline a plan for revising one old assignment. You will start writing on Monday in-class.
