Reading found online: 

· Complete the second module in  Evidence Essentials  at Cochrane.org. (You will need to create a free account and log-in.)

· Read  the research article about giving birth on a birth seat  (download PDF from link). This will be a tricky one for those who are not used to reading research, but do your best. Pay particular attention to the variables used (reference previous sub-section in the reading on  “Scientific Thinking” ).

Assignment to turn in

Write out:

1. what  variable the researchers are studying (hint: you can find these in the methods section).

2. what is the  hypothesis (the explanation of what will happen when the variables are changed).

3. how the researchers are  randomizing this study (you can find this in the main body of the paper, under a section about randomization).
