Core Assignment
Comparative analytical writing, which summarizes, analyzes, and synthesizes some of the scenes, the structure and thematic concepts from Tell Me How it Ends by Valeria Luiselli, (the text) with a film (one of the three that were offered by the CB program or an approved film alternative). This is an academic paper using MLA in-text citations and work cited page. (Paper Length- 4-5 pages or 1000-1250 words)
Content/Inquiry Questions
1. Which thematic concept of the text is most intriguing to me, and how does my selected film relate to that concept?
2. Which craft elements are most pertinent to the plot lines of both the text and the film?
3. In what ways do the writer and the director establish reader/viewer engagement and empathy that can be compared and contrasted?
4. How does structure and pacing play a part in the success of the two parallel stories?
· In YOUR FOLDER share a google doc anyone with the link can edit, titled your preferred first name and U2D - then using the outline you made, write your 1000-1250 word Unit 2 Paper draft
· share your U2D with your workshop group
· Include a heading on the FIRST page ONLY, with name, UNIV111 and section, date, and word count (this is the count for the body of the paper ONLY)
· Include a title at the top of your paper (this is a different title than the doc, and indicates something about the paper concepts)
· 1-inch margins, is double spaced, left justified,
· uses Times New Roman or Ariel 12 point type.
· Indent paragraphs 5 spaces, use line break only for story jumps

· sources are arranged in alphabetical order according to the author or director last name
· citations use correct MLA full citations according the Purdue Owl MLA
· citations are single spaced and double spaced between them
· citations are left margin justified on first line and indented five spaces on any additional lines
