THE ROLE OF LEADERSHIP IN ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE:

Assessing the link between visionary and innovative leadership and organizational change

The swift technological developments, the ever-changing economic conditions and customer preferences have forced organizations to reconsider their approaches to work, comprehend, adopt, and formulate changes within their organizational models in response to the changing trends. The changing environment in both the private and the corporate sector has increased the level of competition and debate between institutions. In this regard, the best approach to these issues involve the organization coming up with innovative approaches to carry out their businesses. Organizational change is a daily demand and a feature that institutions need to survive. However, people respond differently to changes in their environment (Cameron & Green, 2015, p. 257). Hence, organizational leaders are tasked with the responsibility of making sure that the change and transition are effective.

As the leaders have central roles in the evaluation of the organizational change, the process demands competency and effectiveness that is equipped to perceive the desired dimensions of the business. For example, using appropriate tools and highlighting the issues of organizational changes are some of the most suitable ways. Leadership can both be described as a field of study and a practical skill, with regards to the capacity of an institution or an individual to lead individuals or the entire team. The study is focused on the facets of change management while focusing on the role of a leader in the mix.

Leaders are the change agents and they are responsible for influencing a successful transition (Cameron & Green, 2015, p. 177). Similarly, change management does not begin at the implementation stage but the onset of its development.
