My dissertation topic is: Causes and prevention of phishing threat facing utilization of mobile applications in the US education sector. Therefore, it assesses data management challenges in the digital era that lead to facilitate phishing attacks (Nagel, 2016). It confines its focus on the education institutions, which collect sensitive data from their clients. I will combine both primary and secondary to identify the trend of attacks in the sector. The institutions involved in the analysis should utilize technological devices in their operations.

My population of interest in education institution employees in the USA, who interact with the organization’s consumers on a daily basis. They also utilize the devices and encounter challenges managing the massive data they collect. However, the respondents should have worked for the institutions for more than three years to understand the working of the systems. The specific education sector institutions I am targeting are in the universities and colleges They can be based in the USA but have operations in other countries via online programs.

I will utilize secondary data derived studies focusing on randomized control trials on mobile apps phishing threats. Qualitative research methods will allows analysis of both numerical and non-numerical data collected during the study. The respondents might illustrate their opinions regarding the types of phishing threats they encounter. For instance, malicious attachments, embedded links within an email, and scam calls affect the victims differently (Alkhalil, Hewage, Nawaf, & Khan, 2021). They also follow a trend that can allow prediction of their future occurrence.
