In this essay, Freire argues that education suffers from narration sickness. He claims education is an act of depositing, where students

are "containers" and teachers must "fill" them with knowledge. The student simply takes in the information and memorizes them without thinking deeper of what the material truly means. There is an imbalanced relationship in which the student has ignorance since he or she is in a position of learning while the teacher holds the power of knowledge since he or she is in the position of teaching. The teacher gives information that "the student records, memorizes, and repeats" (Freire 3) like a robot and thus discourages them from using any creativity or transformation. Freire states, "Education thus becomes an act of depositing, in which the students are the depositories and the teacher is the depositor. Instead of communicating, the teacher issues communiques and makes deposits which the students patiently receive, memorize, and repeat" (Freire 5). In this imbalanced relationship the student relies on the teacher and takes anything he or she says as true since the student does not have any previous knowledge of the matter. I agree with Freire's argument to the extent that the education system is flawed and encourages students to robotically absorb, memorize, and repeat material for a passing grade. High school classes could implement more lessons about handling situations in the real world. Younger students with no real life experience especially have malleable minds and their judgement can be easily clouded when their experience revolves only around school and extracurriculars. However, students still have their own thoughts, opinions, and morals; I disagree that since students are in a position of learning and are ignorant, they cannot form their own opinions on a subject and make their own conclusions. When encouraged to critically think and discuss topics, students thrive when given the opportunity to form their own opinion. This is why the banking approach the Freire discusses is dehumanizing. It takes away the student's ability to speak out their mind and does not encourage deeper thinking, which goes against the purpose of an education. The regulation of what goes in a person's fundamentals is harmful and restrictive. Students should be encouraged to think out of the box.

1. Freires main argument here in this story is that education is in sickness because of narration of the teachers to the

students. The relationship between students and teachers are bad in terms what contexts the teachers are filling and feeding to the students. It is a process that the banking education is to minimize students creative power. In banking education the student recieves and he memorizes and repeat the process, and he says that this system lacks people to gain knowledge and there is a lack of creativity. The author says the problem solving method is a good way to educate the students. This breaks free of students being oppressed and they actually learn instead of memorizing, and that this method the author propoes as a sucessful education method.

2.Freire has many points that make sense with the problem solving method for which it is better, because it makes the students more of a critial thinker in contrast of being opressed. I could disagree and agreeabout what he said about teacher-student relationship, I agree that it is important communication rather than letting the student think first, because teachers arent in the students head, he cant control the mind, so the form of communication is the best way to teach students. He says that teachers form today is by opressing the students and the students by complying what the teacher asked for them to do. He also states that teachers are giving students contexts that are far from reality and not meaningful, I disagree there are many teachers that communicates with students and they chase after students ideas and make their students think alot and become critial thinks.

3. I agree at some points that he gives on teacher-student relationship, but other might disagree that teachers do in fact communicate and they teach in style of Problem solving like he proposes. Many might disagree that its not only by communication, that you also need to memorize, so that you can learn. Many may think that by memorizing you are learning the way as well. I disagree in this form by only receiving, memorizing and repeat. I agree that there has to be a form of communication between the teacher and the student as well, Also a learning style of communication may also be easier for the student.
