General Nutrition Centers (GNC) uses an Order Management System (OMS) IT system called enVista that allows a single snapshot of the retailers the current inventory , orders, items and customers who purchased this item. The store manager can receive notifications on a single Point of Sale (POS) station after a sale causes the inventory on a specific item or merchandise drops below a set amount, at which point the manager can easily approve or decline to have the IT system order more from a corporate supplier or transfer in from a local store that has a surplus.

Regional managers identify product movement data aggregated from enVista IT system which allows them to identify which products are selling more in specific communities at specific time periods (such as GNCs Gold Card Week, in which there are large markdowns for club members). Regional manager and corporate management will make a decision based on product sales and inventory as to whether to continue the sale of specific products. Every piece of data and command with regards to each product in the store can be made from a single station in the IT system.

EnVista is a cloud based system utilizing a micro services architecture and mutli-enterprise integration platform and a common data model allowing the system to provide faster service at a lower cost not only at all the retail POS locations but also with online orders. The OMS has had a large impact since the COVID out break due to e-commerce orders.
