The program I've selected focuses on Human Systems Engineering and Informatics, so I was fortunate to secure an applied learning position with Dalal Alokla, an engineering manager specializing in unique issues in engineering.

The learning experience we've designed revolves around the analysis of engineering, which includes: engineering based on the computer aid design which involves the Computer Aided Designs (CAD). Furthermore, we sought to explore the life-cycle management of products, design support that is collaborative, and lastly, to study the different behaviors and how the natural and artificial interact to process information.

But before I get into my personal philosophy about this project, I'd like to specifically name some concepts and theories I've learned in my two concentration areas and how they'll relate to my applied study program at Kinonah. Here goes:

Informatics

CPI 310 Web-Based Information Management Systems - Precisely, the course shall seek to evaluate the connective design database, entity-relationship modeling, the connective algebra, SQL, accessing database via the web, managing data through the web, introduction to XML, the foundations of Web application development, Web server architectures, lecture, in-class lab activities.

CPI 360 Decision Making and Problem Solving - Using the systems of the database in a practical manner, applications of the computer graphics, and modeling to illustrate how decisions are made.

CPI 101 Introduction to Informatics - Concepts, tools, techniques, and applications of informatics. Involves making an overview of the aspect of programming, managing data, the implications of the society, visualization, and modeling.

Human Systems Engineering

HSE 225 Human Systems Integration - Reviews human systems integration (HSI), which is fundamentally engineering of systems from the human point of view. Approaches of various methods, research, and theory, are included in the way they apply to the different systems which consist of the systems of transportation, the medical and the military systems. To discuss handbook chapters and specific examples of human systems integration.

HSE 324 Applied Cognitive Science - Human cognition and how it affects the design of technological and social systems. Although focuses on applications require a student to delve into the primary literature that informs these applications and produce a literature review that draws on both applied and theoretical work. Many weeks involve hands-on experience with a method or technique, and weekly quizzes emphasize critical thinking about these examples.

HSE 427 Designing for Learning - Application of learning within the area of human systems engineering. Overview of the theoretical areas and their relevance to learning (behavioral, social cognitive, cognitive, emotion and motivation). Making use of these perspectives to improve system designs.

As a great mathematician and established engineer, Katherine Johnson once said that "We will always have the STEM with us. Some things will drop out of the public eye and will go away, but there will always be science, engineering, and technology. And there will always, always be mathematics” (Katherine, 2015). So, a portion of this experience will attempt to answer some fundamental human systems engineering questions and how they are currently affecting the lives of the public like:

-Which role does the informatics act in the products and services of engineering in the past years that has seen the presence of engineering stand out in the public eyes?

- How do you counter the problem associated with integration to make the industries more flexible and as a result make them in a manner that is ad hoc?

In short, a clearly defined mission statement must be a priority for any engineering and informatics firm. If the firms do not have set goals based on reflection and research, then the message created will fall on deaf ears. The real key to applying the concepts and theories of interdisciplinary studies is to first examine the framework before adding substance. So by exploring the role of informatics in the products and services of engineering in the past years in the society initially and then constructing a unified mission on top, the outcome can't be anything but successful.

Next is the method, which is the real key to comprehending the role of informatics in engineering. We sought to establish the best way of doing what we are doing. Besides, more succinctly we shall explore we shall evaluate whether it is necessary to combine ideas to create a new concept. In that case, then, a correct and useful methodology will surface. In the case of the of the actions of informatics in the products and services of engineering, I'd like not only to see them emulate the methods of other successful firms that have integrated the idea but also have the courage to take the next step. Take chances. Create something new. Be the leader.

And finally, time. Time indeed is valuable and is typically dispensed only when the act results in a tangible reward. Granted, I'll be doing things like writing press releases, contacting computer scientists and engineers, designing a process that will look into a holistic level of managing products. However, the real job will be to integrate the industries to make them more flexible and more significantly to make them be in an ad hoc manner. The upcoming renovation offers us a chance to invent a logical rationale comfortably.

I expect to learn a great deal over the semester and not only the aspect of communicating the role of the informatics in the products and services of engineering in the past years. I want to realize the connection between the manufacturing network and the information systems like the sensors. Furthermore, I sought to learn the concept of human systems integration (HSI), which is fundamentally engineering of systems from the human point of view. Finally, I expect to learn connective design database. But to tell the truth, what I sincerely hope to gain is a greater understanding of myself and how my education at the university is adequate and fits into the equation of Human Systems Engineering and Informatics.
