PUBLIC GATHERINGS, A STADIUM, A CONCERT HALL.

2. CHOOSE THE TARGET AUDIENCE….SPECIFIC TO THE VENUE, THE TYPE OF

EVENTS TAKING PLACE AT THIS LOCATION.

3. IDENTIFY AND CLEARLY COMMUNICATE THE NEW SET OF GUIDELINES, RULES,

PROTOCOLS THAT WILL APPLY, WILL BE OBSERVED, EXECUTED AND FOLLOWED AS PART

OF THIS “NEW DIFFERENT.”

Comm Arts Your client (venue) wants its employees to

make sure that guests

feel safe and welcomed

without having to demand

proof of vaccinations,

enforce use of masks,

or separate large and close

groups of people. Create an internal communication memo that informs the venue staff the way to handle disruptive

individuals, angry or sick

attendees and provide

talking points to address issues.

Memos are usually written from CEOs or Administration.

Public Relations Your client is a major public

venue or facility (ie. FTX Arena,

Madison Square Garden, Hard Rock

Stadium). You create an external communication press release to inform of new guidelines,

new protocols, and new set of rules that

will promote public safety.

Advertising Your client* is a small/medium

size auditorium, concert hall,

religious center or health club helping senior citizens that advocate for public health. Create an ad, PSA, poster, video or other communication that will motivate seniors to adhere

and follow the new guideline

set of protocols.

ASSIGNMENT PARAMETERS:

Blog post (500-700 words) ■ Email newsletter (at least 5 elements – headline, image and text – each with links to more information) ■ Infographic (6 written & 6 visual elements) ■ Interview audio or video (3-5 minutes) ■ Memo (400-word limit) ■ Online video (2-3 minutes) ■ Open letter (400-word limit)

ASSIGNMENT PARAMETERS:

■ Podcast (3-5 minutes, solo or interview) ■ Press release (400-word limit) ■ Print ad (any size or medium – print, outdoor, etc.) ■ Digital ad (Select social medium – Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) ■ PSA poster, radio spot or video (poster of any size, radio or video of 30 or 60 seconds) ■ Social media (Facebook or Twitter) ■ Speech (90 seconds to 2 minutes) ■ Vlog (2-3 minutes, solo)

You’re not expected to be a proficient graphic artist, writer, announcer, videographer or communicator. That ability will come later. This course teaches you the fundamentals of written and visual communication so that you can perfect your skills and knowledge in your next classes.
