4.1 Applying Zig ZIglar’s Writings to Self: Look over PPT-4a. Se;ect 2-3 teachings were you most need to improve and tell how any lack of that quality is currently affecting your success personally, relationally, and/or vocationally. Specifically explain how you can apply ziglar’s motivational success principles from the PPT-4a to change those 2-3 areas that need improvement.

You do not have to type the bolded parts. Just copy the assignment and delete all but the bolded parts.

Please double space your answers.

Zig Ziglar The motivating ideas of Zig Ziglar may help you succeed in your relationships, career, and personal life. I have determined these areas where I need to make the biggest improvements after going through PPT-4a: attitude, goal setting, and time management. My progress in numerous areas of my life: is now being hampered by a lack of these traits.

First off, my mindset has a big influence on my success in general. Maintaining a pessimistic outlook on my situation and myself makes it more difficult for me to accomplish my objectives and form wholesome connections with other people. This attitude may cause procrastination, worry, and self-doubt, which eventually affects my work and personal life. By emphasizing constructive affirmations, cultivating appreciation and surrounding oneself with uplifting people, I can put Ziglar’s motivating ideas into practice. I need to constantly remind myself of my accomplishments, abilities, and progress toward my objectives. I can strengthen my resilience and maintain my motivation when things are difficult by cultivating a positive mindset.

Second, I need to become better at creating goals. It is difficult for me to assess my progress and maintain focus on my objectives without specific, quantifiable goals. My professional and personal performance may be hampered by this lack of focus, which may result in time wastage and diversions. Setting SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound) objectives and breaking them down into smaller chinks allows me to put Ziglar’s motivating concepts into practice. Where did you get this? Stay with what Ziglar says and not outside sources. I remain motivated and focused on attaining my objectives if I lay out a plan for doing so.

I also need to become better at managing my time. My frequent inability to strike a balance between work and personal obligations might cause stress and exhaustion. My ability to prioritize spending quality time with my friends and family may suffer as a result of my poor time management. By prioritizing my responsibilities, getting rid of time-wasting hobbies, and delegating work where it’s feasible, I may use Ziglar’s motivating concepts. I can better manage my time and succeed in every aspect of my life if I learn to say no to things that aren’t necessary and concentrate on what matters the most. Using Ziglar’s motivational ideas may help me become more positive and more effective at establishing goals and managing my time, which will help me succeed in my relationships, career, and personal life.

Your comments are very general. Read and specifically refer to what Ziglar has sad.

You need to document where you referred to Ziglar’s message.

4.2 Self-Evaluation Analysis:

For supplement PPT-4a,. select 2 or more segments under Food for Thought that mostly relate to you and can help you, directly or indirectly for the past, present, and/or future. Specifically explain how or why your selections can positively improve your effectiveness.

Please Note: “PPT-4a” was a typo. It should have been PPT 4b. The upcoming assignments have been updated. Be sure to copy the updated version and not the previous ones. No points off for your answer.

Success in all areas of life depends on having strong interpersonal ties and effective communication. I’ve found two “Food for Thought” selections from PPT-4a that apply to me and can help me be more effective after completing my self-evaluation. The vast majority tune in with the expectation to answer, not to understand. I can relate to it since I often find myself planning my next words rather than paying attention to what the other person is saying. I may strengthen my connections and communicate more effectively by developing my listening abilities and putting more effort into understanding the other person’s viewpoint.

Zig Ziglar said, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start if you want to be great.” This quotation emphasizes the need of acting to realize my objectives. My tendency to put things off and have self-doubt might impede my growth. I may take baby steps toward achievement and gather momentum in the direction of attaining my objectives by constantly reminding myself that progress, not perfection, is the goal.

I may increase my efficiency in communication and relationships by concentrating on honoring my listening skills and making baby steps toward my objectives. The result will be more success in all spheres of my life for me personally, relationally, and professionally.

No points off. Please refer to the Self-Evaluation next time.

4.3 Textbook Related Questions from Covey’s Habit 3:

a. Define “Put First Things First”. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, how would you rate yourself as doing Habit 3: (1.) In your personal life and (2.) At or in your vocation.

The third habit in Stephen Covey’s “The & Habits of Highly Effective People” is “Put First Things First.” This practice entails sorting out one’s daily schedule in accordance with one’s highest priorities. To do this, one must determine which actions will have the most impact on moving one closer to one’s objectives and values, and then methodically plan and carry out those actions.

In both my personal and professional lives, I would give myself a 7 out of 10. I try to keep my priorities straight and give my whole attention to the things that need it the most, but I sometimes procrastinate and lose concentration from time to time. I need to become better at saying no to distractions and delegating work when I can so that I can devote more time to what really matters.

b. Give an example of home, family or friends where and how you need and can apply Habit 3 for a better outcome. What do you expect the result would be?

I need to practice Habit 3 in my personal interactions with those closest to me. So frequently, I let the demands of daily life prevent me from spending quality time with the people who matter most to me. Spending quality time with loved ones, for example, is an activity that helps me stay true to my principles and move forward toward my objectives. I am able to provide undivided attention to these pursuits because I schedule them into my day and give them more priority than less pressing matters. A higher feeling of personal satisfaction and pleasure, as well as improved relationships with those closest to me, would be the end consequence.

c. Give an example at or of your work where and how you need and can apply Habit 3 for a better outcome. What do you expect the result would be?

I need to practice Habit 3 by setting realistic priorities and managing several projects at once at work. Sometimes I have a hard time deciding what to work on first since I have so many things on my plate. I can plan and carry out the most important jobs and projects for my team with diligence and concentration if I first determine which ones they are. I can prioritize what has to be done, divide the work into smaller chunks, and assign responsibilities where appropriate. As a consequence, work processes would become more streamline, productivity and performance would rise, and employees would feel more accomplished and satisfied with their job.

d. What other main thing did you take away from Habit 3 that if applied would improve your effectiveness? Give a specific life example and explain how you could make a more positive change with this improvement.

Understanding and prioritizing my most important duties is another key takeaway from Habit 3. Covey stresses the importance of one’s duties, which include being a parent, husband, employee. To be more productive and have a more well-rounded existence, I need to determine what my most crucial duties are and then prioritize the chores and activities that go along with them.

For instance, as a father, my first responsibility is to provide a loving home environment for my children. I can make a bigger difference in my family life if I make it a priority to spend time with my kids, assist them with their schoolwork, and support them in their extracurricular activities. Tasks that aren’t directly related to this position, such budgeting, may be delegated or eliminated.

e. In light of your answers above, what would be your greatest challenge to maintaining long term success by following Habit 3?

The ongoing desire to prioritize urgent but less essential chores over important but less urgent ones is one of the biggest obstacles to long-term success while practicing Habit 3, “Put First Things First.” Forgoing the short-term pleasure of doing an urgent but unimportant work may be challenging, especially when faced with a choice between the two. Moreover, it may be difficult to frequently examine and adapt our objectives and priorities to ensure that we are still concentrating on what is genuinely most important to us when our priorities and circumstances change over time. Lastly, maintaining the habit calls for discipline and consistency, which may be challenging over time, particularly when other competing demands and diversions are present.
