Technology Diffusion in India

I am doing my research paper on technology diffusion in India. Technology diffusion refers to the process through which inventions (new products, new process or new methods of managing organizations) spread within and across economies (Lei, 2016). For one to understand how the process of how the technology diffusion takes place, it is essential for one to understand the process of economic growth and development (Fichman, & Melville, 2014).

Significance and Importance of the Topic and Interests

The study of technology diffusion in India is crucial since it enables us to understand the various factors that affect this process in India. Technology diffusion is often influenced by several factors such as the quality of innovations being made, how innovation is communicated within an economy, and finally the characteristics of persons to which the process is introduced to. The study is also essential since it seeks to identify why many organizations in the country are unable to sustain competitive advantage after adopting the technology diffusion process (Lei, 2016). The interests in this topic are to establish the particular patterns that describe the diffusion of technologies and how they change with time, determining the drivers that are key for technology, and how technology has affected India as a country (Comin, 2014).

Key issues and resources for additional information or study

One issue regarding technology diffusion in the country is in policymaking. Various policies have been developed by the government, and some have negatively impacted the process negatively thus making it unfruitful. Some organizations have also been unable to sustain competitive advantage in their industries after adopting this process since the process due to their failure of developing policies that would support the process (Lei, 2016).
