We are creating and pilot launching a platform that will connect pet owners (including aspiring pet owners) and pets, creating an opportunity for two customer experiences: same breed socializing, and pet mating. In addition to the general meet up the functionality of the app, it will have added benefits pending the purchase of an upgrade.

B. Project Objectives:

PetChat! is a pilot app that will deliver a platform for Boston city pet owner’s community for their animals social life. The intent of the app is to increase animal socialization & assist pet parent in finding a pet mate, along with surrounding pet options that would allow owner to navigate the city better than before.

1.   Determine what is wanted and needed by pet owners through surveys and researches.

2.   Develop version of app that aligns with pet owner needs & requirements for the app.

3.   Complete the app in 3 months, and within budget of 10 000$.

4.   Provide reporting on project requirements using established performance metrics and KPIs.

C. Assumptions

1.               Pet owners want to allow pets to socialize with the same breed

2.               Pet owners want to mate their pets with the same breed

3.               People would pay for an elevated experience, such as discounts for services and products

4.               Pet owners prefer mobile app experience vs desktop experience

5.               Technology & resources are easily available for development and testing of app

6.               All pets most likely would get along

7.               People would prefer a swiping experience over a browsing experience

8.               Hired programmers and designers will have their own equipment for making an app.

D. Project Scope

This project will focus on the development and implementation of a new app that will connect fellow pet owners and pets. This app will provide a platform to create relationships between pet owners and pets, along with help connecting pet mates. This app will be launched by June 2019.

Deliverables:

·        Functional design draft – outline a design that meets the project requirements.

·        Technical design draft – outlines the technical architecture of the system.

·        A minimally viable version of PetChat! That enables you to test with real users and gather feedback

We plan to hire programmers that will be responsible for technical part of the app.
