Kwantlen Equipment Rental Company

Introduction

Kwantlen Equipment Rental Company (KERC) is a startup company operating in the First Nations in Canada. Its main aim is to rent equipment to the First Nation Community so that they can complete a project for a customer. The need is brought forth by the gap between access to good equipment relation to affordability and efficiency. To this effect, the company will rent out the types of equipment that the Light towers, water pumps, compressors, aerial work platforms, and skid steers, among others. The main clients targeted by our company are the First Nation Community, and they will manage to get the equipment through entrust Engagement Inc.

Entrust Engagement Inc. is charged with developing the suite of services that will be utilized in the community but is also exported or rendered to surrounding communities and brings money back to the community (enTrust Engagement Inc., 2022). The communities that will benefit from the "export" of services will be within an hour's drive of a non-Indigenous community with at least 20,000 people. Entrust will provide equity to Kwantlen Equipment Rental company (KERC) so that the company will partner with the Nation. It will also enable the company to obtain the remaining Capital from major Financial Institutions in Loan Entrust Engagement (2022).

Entrust will also provide 40% of the required Capital, and 60% will be obtained from other financial institutions in a loan. Entrust will exit the investment after the five years of starting the business. Moreso, entrust will provide the management services Kwantlen Equipment Rental Company will need as it begins its operations. Additionally, it will train the individuals who come from the First Nation to assume the company's management during its first two years of operations (Entrust Engagement, 2022). Therefore, the Financial Plan, the IT Plan, the Human resource plan as well as the operations plan for KERC are discussed below:

Operations Plan for the Company

The company's operational plan will involve defining the actions taken by everyone whose main aim is to support the goals and objectives of the management. The projects entail describing the person who will oversee the given tasks in the organization (Robertson, 2022).

Category: The Human capital

The Human capital will involve the specialized operators of the equipment dispatched to the consumer. The vitality of the operators is to ensure that there is the complex equipment is optimally operated and will also be critical in the maintenance process which guarantees longevity in the use of the equipment. The other facet will involve the logistics department which will be responsible for the dispatch of the equipment, while the other facets will be the management. The management of the human capital will be essential in supporting the goals of the organization and guaranteeing that there is a potential for a return on investment.

Goals and Objectives of the Company

· To provide high-quality rental equipment to the First Nation Communities

· To operate efficiently in the service of the community

· To have effective communication between the customers and the employees in the company

· Incorporation of information technology to guarantee optimal services

Key Initiatives

· Carry thorough research on the needs of the First Nation community

· Research on the best method that can be used to deliver quality services

· Research on the current rental equipment that is available in the market

Key Performance Indicators

· Increased number of clients

· Increased revenue or profit in the company and return on investment

· The number of referrals the company gets in a day

Required Resources

· Trained employees (Secretary, Driver, and the Mechanic)

· New equipment that will operate quickly and efficiently

Tasks

· The employees will be required to learn how to set up the equipment.

· Come up with ways of reducing wastage of the products.  

· Developing the best ways of reducing the level of the inventory maintained in the company

· Come up with ways of improving the procedures for the handling of the equipment
