Hi Christy,
These cultural differences are a wonderful comparison! When we look at sexuality be must consider gender. Gender-related differences remain in the acceptability of casual sex, frequency of masturbation, oral sex, and extramarital sex, with men more likely to accept and be involved in these sexual activities. These differences suggest the possibility that women are less sexual than men, but studies involving nonhuman primates have failed to substantiate an evolutionary background for this gender difference (Brannon, 2011). Even though we know that biologically there are no gender-related differences, why do cultures (think of your example of the culture differences) continue to influence the views of ‘appropriate’ gender sexuality?
Super job!
