Teacher Explanation

Good morning Rachel:  Thanks so much for being the first to post a question and require clarification on this Journal One assignment. Remember: This is the first of a multi-part submission for BUS-225. This work will be developed further in the next three projects due for this course (due in Modules Five, Seven and Eight).

My goal is to help everyone get started off with the right focus to alleviate any issues going forward. Now, let's look at your questions and you wrote the following:

I understand I must do the Five Forces for the new industry and insert the diagram for the second Appendix A. But for Appendix B, how do I "compare" the two industries? Do I just do a Porter's Five Forces diagram for the automotive industry? Or do a side-by-side comparison with the chart from Appendix A and the automotive industry?

To clarify, Appendix A you will explain Porter’s Five Forces Analysis of the New Industry (batteries, eclectic cars, water sports, landscaping engines, etc.). This is specific information focused only on the new industry.

Appendix B you will compare the new industry and the automotive industry through Porter's Five Forces. Yes, it can be a side-by-side analysis.

So, ideally, Appendix A will have Porter's diagram for the new industry and Appendix B will have Porter's diagram comparing both industries. NOTE: Since our focus is on visualization of data for Module 3 this week, be sure to include both Appendix A and B following the template - just a gentle reminder and hint for success!

Class: Be sure to follow the template and include your name and products on the title page. If you want to delete the Title page, then include your name and the product on the template. For example: Rachel Duplechain Executive Summary on Automotive Industry Expansion to ________ Industry. Remember: you need to write at least 2.5 pages and do not count the reference page in the page requirement.

Class: I will be working this weekend so feel free to either add additional questions for clarification or give me a call if you need to speak directly! Here's to great success. Thanks again Rachel for your questions .
