Question 1:
You are a middle (tactical) manager in a large, complex organization. It has a centralized organization structure. The organization is a company which makes aircraft for commercial use.
1. Discuss the advantages of such an organization and its appropriateness in terms of decision making.
2. There are environmental forces on this organization. Recently the government has passed laws to tax the purchases of aircraft using fossil fuels (oil, gas, petrol etc) in order to encourage more environmentally friendly modes of transport. What other environmental factors could affect a company of this nature describe at least 2 others?
Question 2:
You have started a business with a friend.
1. Describe the business and what it does. Describe how you are going to develop a strategy for the company using a tool learnt in the course. The company is growing; In 10 years you have 300 employees. Briefly describe how objective setting works in your organization to allow the strategy to be achieved as you are growing.
2. Your company wants to take advantage of new technologies, e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning. Briefly describe how change could be managed in your company to take advantage of a new technology.

Describe how you, as a manager, can motivate teams to:

Question 4:
You are the owner of company that buys food raw materials (spices) from North Africa for use in prepared food dishes (e.g. rice dishes). You are based in Spain. You then sell these prepared dishes to supermarkets in the European Union. You are approached one day by a supermarket outside of the EU (you choose).
1. What cultural aspects would you need to be aware of between these two countries?
2. How can you avoid unethical behavior in your company if, for example, a company asks you to label products that make it possible for the supermarket to avoid taxes (but this would break international law)?
