Based on personal research and course material management is a process utilized for guiding the development and maintenance of an organization. It is dynamic and constantly evolving to meet the needs and constraints of the organization (Khorasani & Almasifard, 2017). The managerial process is a set of tasks that involves planning for potential problems or opportunities, designing plans to deal with them, coordinating and allocating the necessary resources, and performing reviews and making changes (Khorasani & Almasifard, 2017). It is often performed multiple times per day. The four management functions help managers improve their efficiency and effectiveness. They help managers identify and implement strategies that will improve their organizations' performance.

However, when addressing administrative management, design and management of the organization's structure are important aspects. It involves monitoring the daily activities of the organization to ensure that they are uninterrupted. Thus, it can be stated that administrative management entails planning of activities, supervision of projects, development of budgets, hiring and training of employees and monitoring employees (Khorasani & Almasifard, 2017). The functions are applicable in all industries, inclusive of the healthcare sector. The roles of administrative managers were elaborated with the management of healthcare facilities and its staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though the roles are diverse and pose great advantages, administrative management also presents limitations such as the mechanical approach to issues. According to Wenhui and Yiyi (2019) the concept of management is mechanistic and it cannot be applied to key aspects of management such as motivation and communication among others. Additionally, it is focused on the formal approach of addressing issues. Wenhui and Yiyi (2019) further stated that administrative management theory excludes the informal structure of an organization. It only addresses the formal structure of an organization resulting in adverse effects.
