Hello Ben, I understand that you want to take your company to an online e-business but are worried are about the security risks involved. In this summary, I will go through with the dangers and how to mitigate those risks. I will talk about what security policies to implement to add some layer of security on the level of access to limit who sees what. And last, we will also talk on how to secure your companies wi-fi, so your employees can work in other parts of the building and not stay at there desks all the time. I know you are concerned of the transaction processing system business operations such as creating of pay checks, and purchase orders using the transaction processing system and sensitive information gets out I am here to help make that does not happen.
Risk Assessment
Technology generally always has an impact on business operations. IT system will allow you, Ben, to connect with your customers. In the business environment, it is crucial for employees to interact with the clients rapidly. Websites enable customers to find an answer to a question. Fast shipment help's the businesses for moving goods over a sizeable environmental area. The IT system will also protect the financial data. The risks that come with an IT system are software and hardware failures. Losing power and corrupted data is also a significant issue. Viruses, Malware, and Trojan Horses get into a system and spread itself throughout the Network will cause problems. The thing that you must prepare for is 1. Software & Hardware failures to help prevent software failures we must find the right software provider to monitor your system. This is a good way of going the more expensive route of hiring an in-house programmer. 2. is Power Loss & Corrupted Data, Viruses, Malware, & Trojan horse getting into the Network. To help prevent data loss you should save and backup your files regularly, keep in multiple locations. And keep anti-virus software up to date.
Contingency Plan
Now on my next topic Ben I will talk about creating a contingency plan in case of a disaster should happen, but your company will continue to operate. “Reserving contingent and redundant backup plans provides the same general benefit of increasing the number of equifinal means readily available to replace a first-choice plan efficiently.” (Napolitano & Freund, 2016) Without this plan when a disaster happens you will not be able to serve your customers and it can’t execute transactions, leading, potentially, to thousands of dollars of lost revenue.
Security Policy
Next, we will be talking about your security policy. With access control, you are putting an extra layer of protection to reduce security threats. And I will also show the benefits of email, password, and biometric authentication. But I will also suggest that we train employees on social engineering that is one of the biggest security threats. This when someone is phishing for someone's personal information so to gain access to the system.
I hope after the presentation this will answer some questions and look forward to answering more. And looking forward to hearing your feedback Ben thank you.
