Chapter 1 of book ( Lit for Today’s Young Adults), by Aileen Pace Nilsen, 9th Ed. introduces us to young adult literature by exploring what counts as a young adult lit and what counts as young adult literature. For the assignment this week, first discuss the way the classic novel (Lord of The Flies, William Golding)you revisited portrays adolescents/adolescence. Then 2nd share a response to what you read in chapter 1 of book (Lit for Today’s Young Adults) 9th Ed., in terms of what surprised you, including what you learned, and how adolescents of today in young adult literature differ from or are the same as they are in classic texts.
