What is your Thesis Process?

Class,

Here are two options for writing thesis statements:

1) Spend a lot of time upfront creating a strong, clear thesis statement. This author does not write the body paragraphs until the thesis is set, as it provides direction for the rest of the paper.

2) Quickly Create a "working" thesis statement. The exact argument is not yet set, and as the writer creates the body paragraphs, the argument may evolve and change to an extent. After writing the draft, the author goes back and revises the thesis statement to match the rest of the paper.

· What are the advantages/disadvantages of each method? What do you use?

· Are there other methods that you might use to write your thesis statement?

Reply substantively for participation credit!

Spending a lot of time on a thesis can be a good thing because it will be complete. The only bad thing I could see about doing this is you are spending more time on your thesis than on the rest of your paper. Quickly creating a thesis can be a good thing because you spend the time needed on the rest of your essay. This can also be bad because you may think it is all good by the end of your essay. honestly, I have used both I think this just depends on the essay I am writing.

I believe my introduction paragraph will need some work. When revising my introduction paragraph, I will be sure to have proper placement for my thesis statement. I will also make sure that my paragraph is easy to follow and understand.

Revised introduction paragraph:

Schools all over are considered a safe, interactive, inclusive environment. Imagine being a child with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or other learning disability, and not feeling included. ADHD is a disorder that affects a person’s ability to focus, sit still and control impulses (CDC, 2022). Behaviors for students with ADHD stem from lack of opportunities to manage these symptoms. Teachers are trying new and improved ways of creating inclusive lesson plans, classrooms, and other accommodations to help all students learn better.

In the introduction of my newest essay, I feel it may need some work after I reviewed it for a second and third time. I feel like my essay's introduction is not interesting enough and the thesis does not draw the reader in. In this week's final draft I will be using these techniques to finalize my introduction: Engaging the reader, and making it easy to understand.

ADHD medication like Riddlen Adderall and Vivance can all be called a psychostimulant. Many people prescribed psychostimulants have the potential to overdose just like with any other drug. What about the people that also use drugs like these that are not prescribed? Some people use these drugs just for the benefits of the drug. Which can be very dangerous. Other people legitimately use this to combat the symptoms of ADHD and still it can be very dangerous for people/kids around them and themselves.
