Samia Chughtai Loudoun Free Clinic (LFC) has been a primary care service for uninsured adult residents of the county for 25 years. Their services include diagnostic testing, prescriptions, and referrals. Through partner organizations, their patients receive free labs and imaging services. They only serve members who are eligible by being uninsured and are at or below 300% of the federal poverty level. To become a member, the potential patient has to register every year by providing tax documents. This clinic is blind to immigration status and accepts all regardless of their status. They have normal staff and volunteers. Donations are also accepted at this location and that includes donating unused medications (LFC, 1). Originally founded in 1988, the clinic originally was given a space by the Loudoun County Health Department to conduct once a week clinics. In early 2002, Inova Loudoun Hospital donated its space to open a bigger clinic at a permanent location. Currently the clinic helps about 300 people every month and over a 1,000 members of Loudoun County (LFC, 1). According to their 2021 Annual Report, The Claude Moore Foundation has helped them grow and improve their services. It seems like the Foundation is one of the main current funders and the Foundation is now part of the LFC’s logo. The organization has a volunteer staff of 24 volunteers. Over half of the revenue that LFC received in 2021 was in the form of contributed goods and services. About 15 % came from donations and almost 30% came from local grants (Sheehan, 2). 1 Loudoun Free Clinic. 2024.
