What I do best
Two things I do best
Of all the things that I do well, the two major things that I do best is showing up at work and in meeting on time and solving any problems. I do not show up in meetings on time because it is a good thing, but because it is the right thing to do. Lateness may inconvenience an employee by missing out on crucial information said when they had not arrived, and it even negatively taints their images. I normally take time and go through the complaints dropped in the suggestion box and finds solutions to these problems. A problem solver cares not only about their careers but also the future of the business (P. et al., 2018).
Activities I pick up quickly.
The activities that I pick up quickly in the company are taking up leadership activities. This is because of the passion and skills that I have to lead people effectively. When a project comes up, I normally volunteer to lead the team members, and at most times, these projects never fail. This is because it involves every team member in decision-making and allocates tasks according to the strengths of individuals (Byrnes, 2012).
Activities that bring the most satisfaction
Activities in the company that brings me the greatest satisfaction is volunteering to train new interns and mentor junior employees. This is because I love helping people, and I understand how hard new tasks can be to the ne interns. I also love empowering people to discover their strengths in their field of work; therefore, training and mentoring junior employees and new interns will enable them to discover what they can do best; thus, I will have achieved my goal (Tyndale House Publishers, 2008).
Top five signature themes
My top five signature themes are discipline, futuristic, harmony, learner, and positivity. The theme that resonates most with me is discipline. This is due to the fact that I believe in having a structure in the tasks we are assigned to do. I also love having order and dividing huge projects into small tasks. I normally allocate each task to individuals and encourage them to give their best in the tasks in order to have a successful project at the end. I am also very unaccommodating to mistakes, especially the ones made intentionally. I believe that to be successful in accomplishing something, one must arrange all strategies in order and implement them one by one (P. et al., 2018).
What a manager should know
According to my themes, what a manager should know when working with me is that he can rely on me to contribute ideas regarding the future of the business, and he can also entrust me to lead team members in implementing a project. He can also involve me in solving conflicts among my colleagues because I believe in harmony, and through this, I can unite people with different opinions to come to an agreement (Barton, 2008).
How a manager can help me with my strengths
The manager can help me more within my current role by involving me in research activities, especially the ones in IT within the company because I love learning new things every day. The manager can also involve me in training and mentoring new recruits since this will also enable me to discover new things. The manager can also help me in my role by giving me timelines for the completion of projects. This will enable me to plan and structure my work appropriately in order to complete the task on time (Byrnes, 2012).
Significant accomplishment
My greatest accomplishment in my job within the last twelve months was mentoring new IT interns in the company. I volunteered to train and mentor the interns who had currently joined the company and were confused about the IT duties they were expected to perform. After a few days, they could confidently execute any tasks assigned to them without errors. This led to an increase in the security of the company’s digital assets, something that gave me much satisfaction (P. et al., 2018).
When I feel most proud
I feel more proud of my work when it not only impacts the company positively but also my colleagues. For instance, I secured the company’s network, and since then, there has never been an attack compared to the past. When my colleagues are encouraged by my work, I believe they also follow suit and implements their tasks accurately for the benefit of the entire company (Barton, 2008).
How I like being supported
I like to be supported in my work by being offered a corporation by my team members. This gives me an easy time performing my duties. I would also want the management to ensure that IT policies are adhered to (Tyndale House Publishers, 2008).
Distractions
Various things that distract me from being productive, positive, and accurate are the internet, social media, and noisy co-workers. My curiosity to learn new things drives me to spend much time surfing the internet. Social media is also a great distraction to me because I always want to know what is going on in the world, so sometimes I am distracted by those platforms. Lastly, some co-workers are normally very loud when conversing with others or when receiving calls (P. et al., 2018).
Talents
I have multiple talents that, when given a better opportunity, would benefit my teams, such as creativity and emotional intelligence. I am very good at offering ideas about the future and discovering new ways to solve problems such as cyber threats in the company. I am also able to manage my emotions, which makes it easier for me to fit into any team (Barton, 2008).
Ensuring I apply my talents
To ensure that I am able to apply my natural talent, the following step should be taken. I should be allowed to take part in discussions about the future of the company for me to contribute my ideas of what the company should change in the future and how they can solve problems (Byrnes, 2012).
