IN STEP #1 YOU SELECTED THE FOLLOWING HOSPITALS TO DO YOUR ASSIGNMENT: Option 2: Los Angeles Market:  Cedars-Sinai Medical Center AND  Reagan UCLA Medical Center

Step 2 requires that you identify the primary data sources you plan to use for your analysis and review,  including the most recent 3 years of audited financial statements for both hospitals for the same years (e.g., 2019 & 2020 & 2021).  You will also want to locate any  annual reports for the same years as the financials, generally found on the hospital's website.  (Annual reports provide a good overview of the hospital's ownership, management, vision/mission, goals, capital projects, and are helpful for summarizing the hospital profile).  In addition, search for any newsworthy articles about the hospital, the community and demographics, or other salient events that may have impacted hospital financial operations during these years.  You should begin this week collecting these resources and reviewing them for pertinent facts and figures.

For your 3 years of financial data, find the most recent audited financials for your two hospitals provided by   OSHPD  (click the link).  Select "Annual Financials" then enter the hospital name in the search bar and click "Go" and then click on "Reports." Download the most recent  three years of "audited summary" files (click on "show all" to see all years available. Start reviewing and familiarizing yourself with these files.
