c. Explain what the students can expect from you on the first day and during the first week

Include the following information in the parent letter:

a. A short biography about you

b. An overview of the things you plan for the year

c. A brief description of your discipline plan

d. Your planning period

e. Your contact information

f. The school’s contact information

g. The class website address

h. Invite them to attend Open House and other school activities

5. A script for the first day of school

Include the following information:

a. Your name and how it is pronounced

b. Your professional experience

c. How students are to address you

d. Your room number

e. Celebrate the first day including things you have done throughout the summer to prepare for the school year, how the classroom has been organized etc.)

f. Your classroom expectations for the school year

g. The classroom procedures that create consistency and will allow everyone to be successful
