Film: Stand and Deliver

Goal： (1) to demonstrate the ability to apply concepts learned this quarter to a film

dealing with issues regarding the Latinx experience in the U.S., (2) to innovatively analyze a

film, 

Discuss how the film text presents specific ideas about the Latinx experience in the

United States, such as immigration, work life, etc.

Interpret what the movie says about the issues and how. Don’t go for the obvious

points. Help your audience see your text in a new way. Make us say, “Wow!”

With your teammates prepare your analysis. Your thesis must reflect the main

argument your analysis conveys. Take a stand of the issue you’re analyzing.

Except: The struggles of Being a minority in education systems developed to relegate said minorities.

Expressing the plight of the children and coping with their identities as Latinos and Americans: and how this Obstructs their education paths and sets the stage for a story of triumph against the system.
