Directions for Portfolio
Content of Portfolio: 1) Evidence of Creative Solution and 2) Reflection Page (together worth 10% of your course grade)
• As noted earlier, your Portfolio (containing your evidence and reflection page), should be submitted to Turnitin.com for ALL classes, on Thursday, April 18, by 5pm
• Late portfolios receive a penalty of -25% if submitted after the deadline but before 5:00pm the following Saturday (April 20). After that (after Saturday, 5:00pm), no portfolios will be accepted and will receive a grade of zero (0).
1) Evidence of Creative Solution: • Submit documentation of your solution on Turnitin.com. If solution includes something material (a
‘real thing’, construction, invention, drawing, video, etc.) simply document it and include images in your digital submission to Turnitin.com. If it’s digital/text-based (including a website) upload it to Turnitin.com or provide the link to an online creation in the response to the next directions (*see next step below)
• *Explain, in your own words, what your solution actually is, how it works, and what steps you took to create this solution, even if only in ‘mock’ form (approx. 200 words)
2) Refection Page: In 300-500 words, describe the evolution of your project in relation to the course by answering the following questions in whatever order most clearly expresses your thoughts. This page should be written in a thoughtful tone, in 1-3 paragraphs, using the first person (using ‘I’, ‘me’, ‘my’, and ‘mine’ are fine, in other words).
Respond to these questions in your Reflection Page:
i. How did your solution arise out of your research? In other words, in what specific ways does your solution respond to knowledge you gained about your particular region through your research?
ii. How do you think your creation can contribute in some meaningful way to a solution? iii. How was your solution/creative process affected by engagement with and feedback from your
project groupmates? iv. What challenges did you face in creating your solution and how did you overcome them? v. Name one concept that we studied in the WLDC202 course that relates to your solution in
some way and explain the connection you see between them. (For example, jugaad innovation, consumerism, globalization and economic exploitation, the spread of digital media/communications, migration as a factor that changes culture, culture as a means to solve global problems, etc.)
