Improvements

(due to use of technology)

Collaboration:

The Hiring Manager states that recruiting is only one area he is responsible for and he isn’t as responsive to HR as he could be. Therefore, he counts on the Recruiters to help manage the process and keep him informed.

Current manual system causes considerable communication breakdowns and takes additional effort and time to stay on top of the hiring process.

An efficient system with all information in one place, easily accessible via a dashboard, and updated in real time could make his recruiting job easier; and he could devote time to effectively working collaboratively and proactively with HR on his staffing needs.

Communications: Explain how a hiring system could improve internal and external communications

Internally, the hiring system will improve communication between the staff members involved I the process. For instance, recruiters say that the hiring managers select the candidates to be hired, they get the jobs to be presented to them. The system enhances communication between the recruiters and the hiring managers. Externally, communication between the administrative assistant and candidates is enhanced. The AA sends emails to the candidates inviting them for an interview.

The system becomes efficient where information can be sent internally and externally within a short time.

Workflow: Explain how a hiring system could improve the MTC hiring process by providing a consistent structure for each participant to perform his/her part in the hiring process.

The hiring process of MTC is improved by putting g in place a system that is IT based. Every participant knows what they are supposed to do and at what time. That is what contributes to the success of the process. For example, the administrative assistant Tom Arbuckle says that they know that they have to send resumes and applications of candidates to the respective hiring managers after the recruiters screen them. That makes all activities to be attended to without delay.

Efficiency and effectiveness are improved in the organization due to the use of an IT based system. That leads to great performance when everybody knows their role and do it on time. .

Relationships: Explain how implementing an enterprise hiring system could foster stronger relationships with applicants/potential employees.

Relationships are improved between employees and between employees and the applicants. For example, the administrative assistant Tom Arbuckle says that they support recruiters in the process of hiring. That shows they have a close working relationship.

The improved relationships lead to improved performance due to creation of a work environment that satisfies all employees. That working relationship is facilitated by technology.
