My Preliminary Speech Plan 1. What is my final topic for the speech? That starting a new year's resolution is always ends up being a joke 2. What are my main points? Everyone wants to be happier and healthier. Everyone in this world wants to change something. Whether it's to stop smoking, eat healthier, exercise regularly, exercise at all; suddenly go vegan or eat nothing but meat. Whenever someone says the want to start a “new years resolution” it never really ends up happening because that's when you everyone “expects” you to have a fresh start but sometimes people just aren’t ready. 3. What is my central Idea? My central idea is that everyone believes it is so easy to become a completely different person and change all your bad habits just like that and this is FAKE NEWS! You cannot go out an just buy of workout things from amazon but then not workout. You cannot but a bunch of bento boxes and then go out for lunch and order the same food you always do but get the dressing “ on the side” but end up using the same amount you always do. Looking at before and after weight loss photos scrolling through instagram for hours in your bed does not get make you lose any weight unfortunately. We all wish it does, but that is a lie. 4. What do you know about your audience and how they will react to this speech? I am lucky enough to know some of the reactions from my audience through there reviews when I originally posted the article when I did my original choice of my 3 Fake News Topics and most of the classmates were excited to hear my speech. I think they will enjoy my speech because it is very funny and relatable for many at times. 5. What are your concerns about this speech? What will you need to remember the most? My concerns about this speech is that the topic being okay for the speech this time around. I am also very anxious about speaking to quick and making sure I have enough attention getters. I will need to remember to most is to take deep breaths and pause. 6. What did you learn from doing your practice speech that will help you with this presentation? I learned that I need to slow down. I started my practice speech with my name which was incorrect I just need to jump right in with an attention getter and I think this topic opens a giant can of worms for attention getters for me. I need to slow down, leading up to myself recording me doing the speech all day I was anxious and when I finally got to it, I just blew through the speech watching the time on it and I was extremely nervous and fidgety so I plan on rereading ways in the book to help pre speech anxiety.
