The goal of the Reflection paper is for you to (hopefully) find something- anything- that was helpful, interesting, or relevant to you in this class. We've all had classes that we felt were a total waste of time and we didn't learn anything or they were completely irrelevant to our lives. I hope that this was not one of those classes. That's where the Reflection paper comes in! Think about something you learned in this class- it could be how important effective and efficient communication is; it could be how to recognize a stroke; it could be the features of a stutter; ANYTHING! You can write broadly about the class in general, or you could get very specific. It can be something related to your major, your future career, something current, or your life in the future. I just want to know how or what you can take away from this class so that you know it wasn't a waste of time. So much of what we have learned this semester will be relevant in your lives at some point or another (i.e. stroke, dementia, the communication model, etc.). So, whether you're a Business major, a Nursing major, an Engineering major, or a SLHS major, you can think back to this class and recall something helpful in the future! This paper should be from your personal perspective, so you can write in the first person (use I, me, etc). It's informal, so you do not have to have any outside sources unless you want to incorporate them. IF YOU DO, then cite them in APA format. I repeat- you do not need to have any outside sources, but if you give a definition, a statistic, a specific detail, then you do have cite that information. The page limit is 1 pg. Depending on how much you want to say, you can double space it or single space it, 11-12pt font. If you just loved the class that much, you can write a bit over 1 page. But try not to go over 2. Don't forget a TITLE and your name!
