SimCity Game Diary

Question 1

In The Real Mayors of SimCity there is a mayoral race whereby the candidates are planning a test in the simulation apart from the original city builder. After playing Sim City game I would not trust a candidate to perform well in managing the game through SimCity to the same degree this is because the candidates for example Braude relied on the assistance of a computer scientist, a cartographer and a research consultant at the Rhode Island to assist him in building a version of the Providence. The computer scientist played a role of how the program will work efficiently and explaining the disadvantages of it. On the other hand, the cartographer designed the topographical maps. Though the mayor used the help of these individuals same problems that faces cities for example high rates of crime, lack of adorable housing, congested traffic roads and heavy imposition of taxes was problems that the next mayor could face. It was a requirement that the candidates build the cities on a balanced budget whereby there was no overspending, taxes were to go up which would in turn anger the resident, normally the politicians design buildings whit high amounts of budgets. On the other hand, Lederberg builds more police stations in Providence in order to obtain a crimeless city but these led to a lot of expenses which led to depletion of funds and people were imposed high taxes.

The factors in the game that a local mayor should adequately deal with are corruption among the politicians. This is because the politicians squander taxpayer’s money and claim they are doing development. All the mayors should be in a position to stick on the budget so as to avoid high expenses which can in turn affect the taxpayer. The politicians should partition the cities by zoning them its areas such as residential, commercial, and industrial development.

Question 2

The roads developed through the use knowledge of civil engineers and use of cartographers who developed the topographical maps, the public transport used is the use of buses so as to minimize congestion on the roads and to minimize costs of fuel. The challenges that were faced was that which deals with high rates of crime due to congestion in the cities, additionally there was flooding as a result of blockages of the drainage systems within the city. To deal with the problem of congestion roads should be built on the outskirts of the town so as to ease congestion in the towns.

The greatest challenges I faced when building my city is the budgeting of the materials to be used in when building the city. At times you can find that the stipulated budget is not enough to meet the requirements of the city. To overcome the problem of budgetary constraints I ensured that I first came up with the bugged with the highest rank of preference. In addition, there was also a problem of high crime rates in town; to curb this several police stations were building along the town so as to quickly arrest the perpetrators of crime.

The development of the city began by first using the knowledge of computer scientists who designs the buildings of the roads and other infrastructure within the city; secondly a cartographer will be used to draw the maps within the town, and to show where specific buildings will be located. Researcher will also be involved so that they can help in obtaining knowledge on how other cities was build. Additionally, a budget shall be drawn to estimate the expenditure that will be used so as to avoid wastage of resources and to avoid high taxation rates on the consumers. The major blogs encountered was high rate of crime within the city to curb this, I will implement satellite neighborhood station and install police station through this the police station will ensure adequate manpower for every police station. The importance of this is that people will get to know their police officers; the police will be able to understand the neighborhood and respond to citizen calls at a faster rate. The problem of flooding in the city will be curbed through ensuring proper drainage system is put in place.

Question 3

Through building of the city, I learned a lesson that adequate management practices lead to the success of every goal that one needs to execute. To achieve one’s objective, one should work with priorities in order to ensure its success.

SimCity game is a good game because it portrays how most politicians and leaders develop their bluestone cans also learn about the type of leaders that we possess in our society today as it portrays them as corrupt.
