Safety Training

Workplace safety is crucial for every employee in the industry because all employees must work in a safe and protected environment.
Safety is vital for all organizations to promote the wellness of both employees and employers.
It is the responsibility of the company to look after the employee’s safety.
The management should strategize the safety precautions required in the company to make sure the workers are safe enough all the time. They have the responsibility to confirm with the employees the daily work and comfort so that the management can take action according to the desired aspects of the workers. This will improve the performance of employees and productivity in the organization.
The importance of workplace safety enables the management to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. It also ensures the workers recognize safety hazards in the workplace and correct them. It helps the employees to understand the safety practices. Proper training helps the workers to know their rights and gives an overview of specific hazards which they may encounter or be exposed to in the workplace.

The WorkSafeBC is responsible for investigating accidents and causes of industrial diseases, inspecting places of employment, educating workers about industrial health and safety, and assisting and advising employers and employees in developing health and safety programs (Rey-Becerra and Estefany,67). The employer must ensure machinery and equipment are capable of performing safely for functions for which are used, unsafe working conditions to be corrected without delays, to supply protective safety and gear garments to the workers at no cost as required by WorkSafeBC regulations. And also provide firefighting equipment and maintenance.
There are three components of training analysis, including knowledge about the skill sets that the team should have, determining the current skill levels of the employees, and identifying the skill gap of the employees.

If the training needs analysis is poor then it will affect the productivity or output of the organization.
It will lead to waste of resources, money, wrong targeted workers, and wrong methods. Training needs analysis needs to understand the queries what is required, what specialized needed and the targeted people for the training. Successful training programs that result to positive business impacts include assessing training needs, setting organizational training objectives, creating a training action plan, and implementing training initiatives (Gao et al.201).
Organizations are increasingly seeking the help of training to complement business strategy by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. An aspect to consider is the method of training delivery this will help to make decision making easier in the company.

The training program can be delivered through E-learning, instructor-led training, virtual classrooms, mobile learning, and blended learning. Maslow’s theory of needs postulated that a person will be motivated when all his needs are catered to. People do not work for money or security but they contribute and to use their skills.

The hierarchy of needs includes physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, self–esteem needs, and self –actualization needs (Ahn and Sungjin,127). The theories help to study organizations, their corporate designs, structures, and behavior of individuals or groups they aim to provide an overview of how organizations function and the things they need to improve efficiency and profitability.
