PARTICIPANT SELECTION & SAMPLING 2
Participant Selection
The participants for this research study will include 30 individuals. Theses individuals
will come from multiple professional backgrounds to include military, the federal government,
and the education field. There are at total of 15 males and 15 females, their ages range from 18-
71. These individuals completed an online survey that was shared through email and were all
chosen on a first come basis. The individuals will be broken up into three different groups, each
group will have 10 participants.
Materials
The 30 participants chosen for this research study were given one-page, front and back,
consent forms that required a signature of acknowledgement. According to Cozby & Bates
(2017) these forms provided a detailed explanation of why the research was being conducted,
along with the instructions for obtaining the outcome/research results. The back of the consent
forms provided additional resources about diversity and inclusion within the workplace, as well
as how to reach me if they have any questions or comments after the study is completed. Other
materials in this study include the use of an itemized rating scale, the Likert Scale. This survey
consists of three different parts, to include: demographic data, questions about their own
leadership experiences, and questions about diversity and inclusion in their own work centers.
Design and Procedure
The design used for this study was non-experimental, each participant was given the
opportunity to share their personal views on diversity and inclusion. Upon completion, I will
verify that the consent form is signed, and that all questions are completed on the survey. Each
participant will receive a follow-up ‘thank you’ email within a week.
