Instructional Plan

This diagnostic assessment consists of twenty-five questions. Each question is worth 4 points. The data will help me plan my instruction for the standard RL.3.4. For students who demonstrate mastery on the diagnostic assessment, the teacher will provide enrichment activities that extend the student's understanding of the skills. Enrichment activities might include more complex activities to complete, additional readings on related topics, or opportunities to explore the material in greater depth. For students who demonstrate partial mastery, the teacher will provide other practice opportunities and scaffold instruction to help them complete the unit. Additional practice might include providing work examples for the students to study, working through similar activities in small groups, pairing with a partner, or providing extra in-class time to work on the skill. Scaffold instruction might involve breaking the material down into smaller steps, providing sentence starters or other support for writing assignments, giving the students more time to complete a task

The teacher will provide remediation activities and close supervision for students who demonstrate minimal comprehension to ensure they understand the material. Remediation activities might include reviewing previous material, simplifying it, or keeping them in during special time to help students with the skills being taught. providing hands-on activities that help the students engage with the material. Close supervision might involve working one-on-one with the students, checking in with them frequently to ensure they understand the material, or monitoring their work closely to provide immediate feedback.
