The way children relate with their age mates contributes to a significant role in their growth and development.it usually helps in promoting social and emotional abilities and intervening in hard times early in life which seems especially useful for enhancing advantageous experiences in children. When kids are developing, there is the need of peers who may facilitate each other’s lack of socialism character. People, however, assumes that peers are not relevant when kids are growing at an early stage.so they consider family members to be the once to create influence on the kids social life. Some children end up only interacting with their parents who are in most times with hem. However, recent research has indicated that young infants should have that opportunity to interact with their peers. However some kids who have got disabilities may develop problems to interact with their arguments and may even develop problems like it may later interfere with their educational aims. I'll base by the discussion on a case concerning a child by the name Alana to be able to bring to light the concept of the purpose of children social interactions when a young as well as the illustrating way to enhance the social relationship of physically challenged and healthy children.

1. What factors in Alana’s life are affecting her social relationship?

In the case study, the nurses are told to have conveyed information about Alana having born premature, diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome disorder and also suffer from petil mal seizures. According to research children who are born with such illness develops mental problems. If a pregnant woman takes alcohol, it will affect the unborn baby as it will pass through the placenta. In United States FAS have resulted in mental retardation of the infants. When the kids like Alana are growing, the diseases affect her normal functioning. She then have problems when interacting with people and try to behave differently. That is why Alana is found swinging and staying in bathroom sink alone because she doesn’t feel anything abnormal about it like a normal kid would do. Therefore, it is a reason which affects Alana's social relationship with other students in school. Due to Alana’s sufferings, it’s the reasons she has weak socialization behaviours as well as having poor concentration skills preventing her from understanding what is taught in class quickly. Alana is said to be an outgoing child and at times socially engaging yet other people see her as extra talkative and not being aware of social conventions. That is why Alana’s classmate take her to be a younger sibling rather that their peer. The disorder has made Alana be acting abnormally towards others like for instance pinching, playing and disturbing character which can make her peers create a boundary when relating with Alana. It can make the other children not to tolerate her and hence to isolate her from social activities e.g. talking, playing, and doing homework among others.

2. What strategies could be implemented within her family, teachers, and community that would better promote Alana’s social interaction with her peer’s.

Strategies like consistency should apply by Alana’s family members, teachers as well as a whole community. It uses when responding, they should try to be consistent when addressing her. They should also give Alana brief explanations as well as use variety ways to ensure that Alana gets what is required of her as well as to keep her entertained. Repetition should also be a strategy; family members should not get tired to keep telling Alana one thing many times. It will make Alana get able to cope up and do things in the right way; it will also ensure that she doesn’t forget easily. They should also give very simple rules which are to be followed by her. Hence, it will prevent her from seeing things being so hard for her.

3. How will Alana's current socialization her influence her perception of adult roles in the school and community?

Alana’s currently socialising is likely to make her have a bad view of the adults and the community if they don’t treat her right. She may see them having a bad role in the school, especially if they don't understand her. It may cause her to feel irritated by adults including the teachers, resources aide and even family members. It’s because she is not able to have an excellent communication skill and corporation like other people. She will not be able to participate accordingly in class or to help in other social activities in school like engaging in oral discussions.

In conclusion in this case study, Alana is a student who is not having a good social relationship with her peers. It is due to the analysed problems like having diseases like fetal alcohol syndrome which affects her mind and therefore being in a position not to make sound judgements and decision makings. Her social life gets changed, and she can't cope with class teachings because at times she want to be alone and others wanting to play and having queer behaviours which irritate her classmates. Various strategies like consistency, repetition, variety among others should be implemented both in school and at home to help Alana manage things and get engaged in socialism without feeling left out..
