Please refer to the following questions when interviewing your school attorney: 

1. Why were you interested in law? 

2. Why school law? 

3. What has prepared you for this position? 

4. Was there any special training in which you had to participate to prepare you for this job?

5. What training or professional development is offered for you as a School Board Attorney?

6. Are you apart of any professional organizations?

Explain to them that you are in an educational foundations class and that you have been discussing tort laws. Then ask the following questions: 

1. What is a Tort Law as it relates to school?

2. How much of your work is deals with torts?

3. What has the school district done to be proactive to assist all employees from being liable?

4. Can you clarify the difference between intentional torts and tort negligence? 

5. Do you know of any court cases that have dealt with tort negligence that has impacted your current work?

6. How closely does your office work with the school policy office?

Explain that you are a school psychology student and that much of your work will deal with students with special needs. Then ask the following: 

1. How is the district proactive to assist school psychologist and other professionals when working with exceptional children?

2. Does this office/your office work with the office of professional development to provide information to school psychologists, teachers, and principals surrounding tort laws?

3. Do you have any advice for a novice practitioner such as myself?
