Due to nowadays, the number of old people bloomed is Shanghai, so we decide to organize other students to help elders living in a happy life.

Target audience: The elder who lived in nursing house

Goals for project

Let elders feel warming like they stay home and make them think happiness during their spare time. We can help some disabled elders to take a shower or brush teeth.

Change in our commonality

For elders

First, we can make elders not feel lonely, because nowadays many people are busy with their work and have no time to go back home to accompany their old parents.

Second, give them a chance to keep in touch with youth who have the same age as their grandsons and granddaughters.

Then help elders integrate society and expand their social circle.

Last is to give them a sense of belonging, that can benefit their physical and mental health.

For volunteers

Volunteers have the opportunity to contribute to society by participating in volunteer work and fulfilling their civic responsibilities and obligations.

Volunteers use their free time to participate in meaningful work and activities, which can expand their life circle, and experience the people and things in society, and deepen their understanding of society. This is the growth and improvement of volunteers themselves.

In addition to helping people, volunteers can develop their own organization and leadership skills in participating in volunteer work. Learn new knowledge, enhance self-confidence and learn to get along with others.

List of action steps

Ensure the time when we go to nursing house.

Volunteers should divide into two groups, and each group need 25 volunteers. Also, each group need to elect a leader, and one for Saturday and the other for Sunday.

To ensure which volunteers can do long time well others can do short time.

Put it into a regular activity.

Each group need to record their member’s’ cell phone number and notice them every week.

With the time go by, each elder should have their own volunteer to communicate.

To help elder do stuff what they cannot do by themselves. Such as take a shower, cut nails, and eat meals.

With allows of nursing house, the volunteers can make some delicious food if elder want to eat.

The volunteers should help to clean the nursing house, such as sweep the floor, wipe the desk and map the floor.

The volunteers need to follow the timetable and rules which made from leaders and nursing house.
