Diagnostic results The patients might be suffering from the same disorder, depending on the level of the disorder. Both of them have been through hard times, the daughter experienced the life of a brutal father who mistreated them, to an extent of raping her sister. This could have triggered the PTSD. The symptoms recorded by the two patients showed the horrific times they all went through. The mother may also be possibly suffering from depression. Raising six children by herself, facing hard times with her husband, and seeing a child being raped by their father might trigger a depression.
