Data visualization is a technique used by an organization to help individuals understand the importance of data by creating visual imageries. Visualization takes in the form of presentations by use of graphics such as patterns, lines, and bars to make individuals create imagery in their mind. To ensure the information is understood to the targeted audience the process requires specific stages that need to be followed in specific series to ensure the success of data visualizing (Neher & Bedford, 2018). The stages that are used in visualizing data follow in this sequence firstly is the formulation or planning, gathering of the data, applying editorial thinking and finally is through the application of visualizations.
Data visualization involved formulating and planning of the information that was intended to be passed to the individuals. This stage in most cases goes efficiently throughout the entire process because does not require a lot of research. The other stage is gathering of the information from the appropriate sources (Schulzet et al., 2015). This stage involves reaching the targeted individuals to collect the information that is intended to be visualized to them to get the meaning of the data. The stage can be chaotic in some situations especially when the data source is encountered with language barriers.
After the gathering of the information, the editorial stage follows that involves applying own thinking on the data collected. Editing involves carefully reading through the data and filtering out the irrelevant data that could be contained in the research. The editing involves identifying and correcting errors to improve the accuracy and quality to meet the purpose of the data (Kosara, 2016). This stage is however challenging and interrupted through warnings that prevent data editing. The last stage is the application of visuals presentation that may take inform of charts .graphics like pie-charts and also screen visualization through Google charts. Visualization representation sounds efficiency to the graphic designer but is a challenge through sense making to the targeted audience.
