Rhetoric Scrapbook Project

 

Complete all components of the project described in lesson 09.09c

In order to assess your knowledge of this unit, you will create a Rhetoric Scrapbook. Use the program of your choice to complete your assessment. For recommended tools, contact your instructor.

Remember, your Rhetoric Scrapbook should contain:

1. A eye-catching cover page including:

a. title

b. your name

c. your teacher's name

d. class

e. date

2. Aphorism requirement

a. choose three of your favorite aphorisms by Benjamin Franklin

b. an explanation of the aphorism

c. an illustration that goes with the witty saying

d.  a citation (the URL is fine here) for each image you include that you do not create yourself; Google does not count as the image source.

3. Your own Declaration on Independence

4. Rhetoric in Narrative requirement

a. identify a minimum of 10 examples of rhetoric in  Olaudah Equiano's narrative Download Olaudah Equiano's narrative

b. ten terms, ten excerpts, and ten explanations

5. Rhetoric in Music requirement

a. identify the use of rhetoric in one of the Revolutionary Era songs shared in the unit. Include:

i.  the lyrics

ii. three terms from the unit's keywords that apply to the lyrics of the song

iii. labeling the term

iv. explaining the term in 1-2 sentences how this rhetorical appeal might persuade soldiers or civilians to stand for American Independence.

You may submit your scrapbook in its original format, but you may also want to save it as a PDF and submit that as well. PDF ensures that your work will look the same for your teacher as it does for you. Let your teacher know if you need help.
