Rhetorical Decision

Purpose: The purpose of my essay is to analyze makeup ads and determine why and how do companies come up with their target audience.

Audience: The audience is anyone who wears/has an interest in makeup or anyone who has ever felt unrepresented in the ads.

Occasion: The occasion of my essay is to find a deeper meaning to why certain companies focus on one group of people and why do other companies make it their mission to focus on all groups of people.

Pre-writing

Events: It seems that as we become more aware of the problems going on in our country we start to notice some of the subliminal messages that are seen in advertisements. One of these being the underrepresentation of minorities in makeup companies and their advertisements.
