I chose the article “HOW TO MAKE MONEY RESELLING SHOES: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO GET STARTED” by Christopher Jan Benitez as my rhetorical analysis. It published at nichepursuits.com on May, 2019. It explained the sneaker reselling for nowadays, and teach people how to resell and buy sneakers. He is trying to tell people that sneaker reselling is really making big money. His intended audiences are the people already involved into or trying get in sneaker resell market. I think most of the audience background will be teenagers. They expected to learn how to make money on their young age. My major is general business. I consider sneaker reselling is kind of big business out here now.

He used exemplification as one of the strategies to show the people some sneakers retail price was $200 can sold for couple thousands dollars. Air Yeezy II red October which designed by Kanye West was released in 2009 and its initial price was $250. It can resell for $5000 - $6500 after one month. They randomly drop this online, nobody knew the times. If you are visiting Nike.com at that moment, you make $5,000. There is another sneaker name Nike Air Mag Back to the Future which has been worn by Marty Mcfly in the movie “Back to the Future 2”. Nike made 1500 pairs of those and sold for auction, all the money going to Fox's foundation for Parkinson's disease research. And they do another release in 2015, people can donate $10 to Fox's foundation for Parkinson's disease research to get one entry. This sneaker’s resell price was over $10,000. You could won $10,000 sneaker by a $10 entry if you luck enough. Finally, it raised $6.75 millos went through to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. It tells the people that sneaker reselling could make big money by your small out of pocket money, but it also need luck.

He also used process analysis for strategies to tell people how should the process do. For example, He said that people need to learn about sneaker culture before you get into the market. Sneaker reselling is kind of like the stock market. You need to have your own version to buy the sneaker which price can raise after their release. It is not all of the sneakers can resell for higher price. Sometimes the sneakers can be discount which we call it “brick”. He also told people that instead of lining up to store for hours to buy them, you can go to some Shopify website to buy it, but you need to act quick before a fast sold out. He taught people how to buy sneakers and what should you prepare before you go for reselling.
