I. Introduction Background/ Thesis Statement There are many differences between Nigeria and Cameroon in terms of their food, culture, and natural resources. The first major difference between Nigeria and Cameroon comes in their food. While the Nigerian food is spicy and involves a lot of frying and cooking, the Cameroon food is far less spicy, and has flavors. Nigeria has variety of foods with different ethnics same as Cameroon but not as much as Nigeria has. Cameroon eats more of peanut which has serious damage on their health status. On the other hand, Nigeria prefers fresh foods from the soil and less of oil. However, there is minimal use of oil in preparing Nigerian food and therefore the food is considered healthier compared to Cameroon foods that use too much oil that causes obesity and also considered dangerous to health. The main delicacy in Nigeria is white rice compared to Cameroon delicacy known as okra soup. They both commonly eat fruits and vegetables mangoes, banana, pawpaw and oranges.

II. Body A. Similarity: Second major difference between Nigeria and Cameroon in terms of culture is their mode of dressing. Nigeria has three major ethnic groups, namely Yoruba, Hausa-Fulani and Igbo. The culture in Nigeria is multi-ethnics. There are 527 languages in Nigeria and seven of them are extinct. Each group has their languages and dress code. In contrast, Cameroon are all 90% Muslims and they are very strict with their dressings. the women must wear their gowns and always cover their hair according to the Muslim tradition. However, Cameroon has ¾ languages including French. Their mode of conducting marriages, funerals naming is different to that of Nigeria in a little way. For example, Nigeria makes noise with lot of parties and spraying of money during any function in contrast to Cameroon, they are so traditionalist, their culture and religion will not allow them to have a very flamboyant and noisy party during any function. Although both countries have some Muslims and they share the same culture.

B. Similarity or Difference: Another source of difference between Nigeria and Cameroon is the countries respective natural resources. In Nigeria the most crucial mineral resources located in different states, crude oil, and gas found in Abia, Bayelsa and Edo. On the other hand, Cameroon has low number of resources, examples are’ palm kernel, peanut, fish and sands. However, their major is peanut production and exportation. They both have produce palm kennel and export them because they see it as major business and a rich natural resources.
