As for admissions, I was unaware of how much the process is a university-wide endeavor. Without the cooperation and the support of every aspect of an institution, the strategic enrollment plan will not be successful or at least not reach its full potential. There are so many support services that are available to current and prospective students, which many are not aware of, and it is only beneficial for the students to take advantage of these programs.
I see myself using this information in my career as a higher education administrator. I recently obtained a position in the Office of Student Aid at Penn State, and this course has given me a much greater understanding of the role that I truly play. Not only will I be there to assist current and prospective students with their financial aid package, but I will also be there to help execute the strategic enrollment plan and provide support to any areas that may be relevant to my role. Furthermore, my current career goal is to become an academic advisor. Prior to this course, I was in the dark about how much of this information is relevant in every higher education role; however, now I have a better understanding, and I am more prepared for that which lies before me.

Michele Discussion:
Hi Class,
I enjoyed this class and loved learning more about strategic enrollment management. I currently work in Admissions at a university and have experience working in Financial Aid and the Registrar’s office. Admissions is more of my passion. I like that you can be creative and think outside the box for enrollment strategies.
We were exposed to a lot of different resources that provided some interesting data. I was doing some research for this class and found that on NACAC they have information of what schools are extending their deposit deadline and what they are doing for a virtual experience. I was able to pass this information along to those that are making the same types of decisions. This class has already helped me in my current position, and I believe it will continue. Especially with the current climate of working and going to school from home. Drawing on the different resources for comparison of what other institutions are doing will help facilitate changes that we need to make at Lesley University.
Thanks for a great class!
Stay Healthy!
